Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered why your skin doesn’t quite match how young you feel? I've been there! The process of aging is normal, natural, and inevitable. But 'premature' aging is not! Premature aging is a concern for many, manifesting as unwelcome fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin long before their time. But what causes this early wear and tear? From sun exposure to lifestyle choices, a variety of factors play a role in how we age. This includes unhealthy habits like smoking, excess drinking, substance abuse, and a diet high in processed foods. And then there are external factors such as prolonged sun exposure, highly sterile work environments, air conditioning and heating which drys out the skin. Some of these elements are hard to avoid or out of our control. The more changes you make to improving your health and lifestyle, the better you'll look and feel. And if you also follow my Top 3 Tips for preventing premature aging, you'll be amazed at how quickly the skin can be reinvigorated.
Tip Number 1. HYDRATION! Your skins' ability to hold onto its water levels is crucial to it's health, function, and appearance. Just imagine a grape after all the water has been sucked out of it. You end up with a raisin. The same thing happens to your skin. Heat and dry weather can draw moisture out of your skin as well as other environmental factors like air conditioning or heating. I recommend using Ultraceuticals Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum with its main ingredient Hyaluronic Acid which acts like a magnet for water. combined with our two B vitamins; Niacinamide and Panthanol, they all work together to support your skin's hydration levels and build its natural protective barrier.
Tip Number 2. SUN PROTECTION! The most vital step of every daytime skincare routine. The sun shines brighter here in Australia and its UV rays cause the most damage to our cells. One of the main signs of sun damage is pigmentation such as freckles and sun spots. As a natural redhead with fair skin, I take my sun protection very seriously. And remember, your not just protecting yourself from signs of premature aging, it's also important protection against melanomas! So for everyday wear, I recommend Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF! It's a 'two-in-one' moisturiser and SPF and it doesn't feel thick or tacky on the skin like other SPFs.

Tip Number 3. DON'T SLEEP ON YOUR FACE! If you're sleeping on your side or your stomach at night, you're putting unnecessary pressure on the muscles and fat pads in your cheeks and other areas of the face. Over time, these pads shrink and become compressed which leads to sagging skin and the appearance of jowls. Imagine a seat cushion that has been sat on over and over again. Eventually the stuffing becomes compacted and the material loosens. This is just one side affect to sleeping on your face. The other side affect is the pillow causing your skin to smoosh together and wrinkle. If these wrinkles are being formed over and over again, night after night, for hours at a time, eventually those wrinkles will become permanent. I've personally trained my self to become a back sleeper. (No, it wasn't easy! But worth it.) Or if this seem impossible, there are many options for "Anti-Wrinkle Pillows" on the market. A simple Google search will show you all shapes and kinds from silk to bamboo! I've had a few people tell me they use them and love them so why not give it a try? You deserve a new pillow anyways!
Hope these tips help!
